Successful Solar Market PV Event
The Centre hosted a two day conference entitled "The Solar Market" on the 9th and 10th March 2011. Over 90 delegates were registered for both days of the event and the atmosphere in OpTIC was amazing. The event provided excellent opportunities for businesses to interect with each other and the academic research groups attending the event. Day 1: Processes and Monitoring in Photovoltaics – promoted the LCRI Convergence Project “SPARC Cymru” Key note talks from Industry and Academia including “The Solar Market”, an interactive networking exhibition along the Street/Corridor in OpTIC with tours and discussions from the Work package leaders and industries on board of the SPARC (Solar Photovoltaic Academic Research Consortium) which provided an opportunity for engagement with a wide range of Welsh businesses from the PV supply chain in Wales. There was a Conference Dinner in the evening with more opportunities for networking. Day 2: Material Developments and Characterisation in PV - promoted the Knowledge Transfer Centre in Thin Film PV. Business breakfast networking opportunity Key note talks from Industry and Academia on Materials and Characterisation in PV. The Solar Market was used for businesses and the CSER’s Thin Film Knowledge Transfer Centre was promoted. There was demonstration/hands on sessions for businesses to bring along materials/ samples/devices to trial on the new equipment bought with the KTC grant and encourage Welsh businesses to take advantage of the World class expertise and facilities at CSER. |
